Palliative Care helps people to live well while they manage a life limiting illness. It concentrates on maintaining quality of life by helping control pain and physical symptoms, and assisting with the emotional, social and spiritual needs that people may have at this time.
One of the priorities of The National Palliative Care Program is to assist people who receive palliative care at home to access
the medicines they need via the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). Further information on this program can be found on

The National Palliative Care Program is funded by the Australian Government to improve access to, and quality of, palliative care services in Australia and is
consistent with the goals of the National Palliative Care Strategy. Information relative to state and territories can also be found here.
Palliative Care Australia (PCA) is the national peak body for Palliative Care in Australia. PCA is undertaking a range of projects under the National Palliative Care Program. This site also includes contacts for state and territory member organisations.
