The Access to Medicines Working Group (AMWG) met in Canberra on 20 February 2018. Attendees included representatives from Medicines Australia (MA), industry and the Department of Health.
The AMWG endorsed the outcomes and actions from the previous AMWG meeting and discussed a range of issues, including the recent passage of amendments to the National Health Act required as a result of the Commonwealth-MA Strategic Agreement, and proposed changes to PBS cost recovery arrangements. The AMWG received updates on the work of various AMWG sub-groups including the AMWG Streamlined Pathways Subgroup; the AMWG/GMWG Transparency and Efficiencies Sub-Group; and the joint AMWG/GMWG Biosimilar Policy subgroup.
AMWG members are committed to working together on the Commonwealth-MA Strategic Agreement.
