Alteration to Spelling of Drug Name in Schedule of Pharmaceutical Benefits

1 September 2008

2964B Cefalotin, powder for injection 1 g (Cefalotin Sandoz, Keflin Neutral, HH brand)

3376Q Cefalotin, powder for injection 1 g (Cefalotin Sandoz, Keflin Neutral, HH brand) (Dental)

The spelling of the drug name "CEPHALOTHIN" was changed to "CEFALOTIN" in the August 2008 edition of the Schedule of Pharmaceutical Benefits to reflect the current spelling adopted by the British Pharmacopoeia. Both current and previous BP spellings of the name are currently Australian Approved Names and therefore acceptable for use on Australian product labelling. Either spelling may be used when prescribing and dispensing pharmaceutical benefit items 2964B and 3376Q.
