PBS Calendar and PBAC Consumer comments

The Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) Calendar was added to the industry subsite of pbs.gov.au on 1 October 2008. This calendar contains a schedule of PBS related activities such as listing and submission deadlines, Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) and Pharmaceutical Benefits Pricing Authority (PBPA) meetings and the closing dates for consumer comments on PBAC agenda items.

Consumers now have the ability to comment on medicines being considered for listing on the PBS, including new drug submissions, changes to listings and resubmissions.  This new initiative was developed in consultation with Medicines Australia, the Consumers’ Health Forum of Australia and the Generic Medicines Industry Association.
