2014 PBS co-payment and safety net amounts

In line with changes in the consumer price index, the PBS co-payment and safety net amounts have been revised.  Therefore, the following changes are effective on 1 January 2014:

• the general patient co-payment will increase from $36.10 to $36.90;
• the concessional co-payment will increase from $5.90 to $6.00;
• the general safety net threshold will increase from $1,390.60 to $1,421.20 and
• the concessional safety net will increase from $354.00 to $360.00.
