Withdrawal of Prexige (lumiracoxib)

Cox 2 inhibitor, Prexige (lumiracoxib) is no longer available in Australia. Novartis Pharmaceuticals Australia has withdrawn all strengths of Prexige (lumiracoxib) following cancellation of its registration by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).

The listing for Prexige (lumiracoxib) tablets in the Schedule of Pharmaceutical Benefits will be removed as soon as possible, on 1 October 2007.
