On 1 September 2026, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing will release an upgrade to the monthly PBS Schedule PDF files. The schedules were previously released in two large volumes, however, from 1 September they will be released as individual publications such as the General Schedule, Highly Specialised Drugs (HSD) Schedule, Efficient Funding of Chemotherapy (EFC) Schedule and more. Each schedule will include a program specific Summary of Changes along with all other relevant content.
As the information supporting the PBS continues to grow, so do the challenges of delivering up-to-date content to the community. The size of the existing publications makes it necessary to review our delivery strategy. This upgrade improves accessibility and usability on mobile devices, makes search and downloading faster, and provides users with more choice.
