In 2004, the Department of Health and Medicines Australia jointly ran a review 'to design a streamlined process/arrangement that is best positioned to deliver efficient, effective, certain and transparent outcomes for government, the pharmaceutical industry, prescribers and the community'.
The report was endorsed and released, in a media release, by the Minister for Health
and Ageing on the 27th July 2004.
