Seeking expressions of interest — Health Technology Assessment advisory committees members

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who would like to be considered for upcoming committee member vacancies on national health technology assessment (HTA) committees and sub-committees including:
- Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC)
- MSAC PICO Advisory Sub-Committee (PASC)
- MSAC Evaluation Sub-Committee (ESC)
- Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC)
- PBAC Drug Utilisation Sub-Committee (DUSC)
- PBAC Economics Sub-Committee (ESC)
- PBAC Nutritional Products Working Party (NPWP)
- Medical Devices and Human Tissue Advisory Committee (MDHTAC)
- Expert Clinical Advisory Groups (ECAGs); and
- Consumer and industry member vacancies.
These HTA committees provide independent expert advice to the Minister for Health and Ageing and Minister for Disability about the comparative safety, clinical effectiveness and cost effectiveness of medicines, and medical services and other medical products. The HTA Committees play an important role in ensuring our health system meets the needs of the community.
Applications for committee membership are welcome from individuals with a broad range of medical, health economic, consumer, other HTA related and clinical expertise. This includes (but not limited to):
- Registered medical practitioners:

- Haematology
- Endocrinology
- Cardiology
- Genomics and Genomic Testing
- General Practice
- Rheumatology
- Paediatric medicine
- Surgery (all sub-specialities)
- Nuclear Medicine
- Radiology
- Radiation Oncology
- Pathology (all sub-specialities)
- Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Economics
- Clinical Pharmacology
- Prostheses/implanted medical devices
- Scientific and professional:
- Pharmacy
- Pharmacology
- Clinical epidemiology/pharmacoepidemiology
- Biostatistics
- Public health/Population screening
- Health data analysts
- Heath economics
- Dietetics
- Consumer, patient and industry representation.
